Would you like your employees to be trained on exactly how to use an extinguisher? We offer demonstrations and education on how to properly use a fire extinguisher.   

There are multiple types of extinguishers that fit different needs.  The most common extinguisher is a Dry Chemical Powder ranging from five pounds up to 30 pounds.  The powder is a sodium bicarbonate mix, and can be used on ABC types of fires. Other common extinguishers are CO2, Halotron, and K Class extinguishers.  CO2 is used for flammable liquids and electrical fires.  Halotron is used primarily for B and C fires, and are good to have is there are a lot of electronics or laboratories.  K Class extinguishers are used in kitchens/restaurants and put out K type fires, which are grease/oil fires we see in the kitchen.  Please refer to our FAQs for more specific information about types of fires and how often they need to be serviced and/or replaced.  Please note. North Cal Fire will never sell you an extinguisher you don't need, as integrity is the upmost importance to us.
